He was a Senior at Salem Christian School in Macungie where he was a member of the puppet ministry, drama club, yearbook and the Guatemala missions team. He was also active on the baseball team and the praise and worship team.

He was a member of the Fleetwood Bible Church where he played percussion for the Praise Team and was also a member of the youth group and the France Mission team.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his Maternal Grandmother: Karen Brown and Paternal Grandparents: Jack and Linda Kroa. Also his Maternal Aunts and Uncles: Jim and Kelly Brown; Brenda and Lee Schlosser; Barb and John Marlin; Jay and Jen Brown; Jerry and Rhonda Brown; and Dan and Jenn Volz. Also his Paternal Aunts and Uncles Cindy and Rich Spohn; Crystal Yaw; Connie and Scott Gerken; and Dave and Connie Clinker. He is also survived by a total of 18 cousins. He was predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather: Phillip E. Brown and his Paternal Grandmother: Bernadine (Harvey) Kroa.

James made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 5 and made his faith public in the waters of believer’s baptism. His faith was a solid and sustaining force in his spiritual formation. At the age of 12, James received his call from the Lord into full-time Christian ministry. He intended to major in youth ministry or missions at Bethel College after graduation.

Though his life’s work was much shorter than we had envisioned, his energetic, humorous, and contagious spirit remains an inspiration to those who knew him. He called himself in his personal testimony “joyful drummer for the Lord.”
